Laramie, Wyo. - Wyoming's Tyler Vander Waal continues to impress in Fall camp and is named the starter for Wyoming's upcoming 2018-2019 football season.

Craig Bohl, Wyoming's head football coach, says he continues to be impressed with both quarterbacks, but Vander Waal is his number one pick right now.

"There's good things Tyler did today and there's good things Nick is doing," said Bohl.

"We'll continue to evaluate that during the course of fall camp. It was important to name a starter after the spring competition but there's going to be more competition. I can tell you right now Tyler sits at number one. I thought he had a good day today- he's got a good zip on the ball and he's got good mobility," said Bohl.

Vander Waal is excited for the opportunity but knows there are big shoes to fill.

"It's good, it's nice to hear but the work is not done. The work is just getting started and we've got a long season ahead of us and like he said I got big shoes to fill now and I'm up for the task," said Vander Waal.
